Query Critiques $125

Materials Needed: Query, the first three chapters of your story, and a 1-3 page synopsis.

I will edit your query letter for clarity while advising how to best deliver a hooky premise that will make agents and editors want more.

Evaluation of Partial $150

Materials Needed: First 50 pages + a 1-3 page synopsis.

Unfortunately, I cannot accept every story delivered to my inbox. To determine if I'm the best fit for your work or to give you a basis from which to edit on your own, I will read the first 50 pages and a 1-3 page synopsis. Whether we move forward to the editorial stage or not, the evaluation includes feedback via a brief editorial letter notating the strengths and weaknesses of the opening. In the EL, I will also note problematic tendencies, trouble with pacing, and any plot or character development issues. The fee can be deducted from the total bill if you decide to hire me as your editor.

**This is a good choice for writers prepping their first 50 for agent/editor requests and for anyone accustomed to revising who might need just enough guidance to get them started.

Full Read (Not a full edit): Fee dependent on word count.

Materials Needed: Full Manuscript (synopsis can be included but not required)

If I can take on your story and you decide to hire me for this service, I will read your full manuscript and provide notes via editorial letter. This is an extension of the evaluation of work listed above and does not include line editing or notes in track changes.

**This is a good choice for writers facing the revision phase, or for those writers needing to submit a full request to an agent or editor.

Developmental and Content Edit: Fee dependent on word count.

Materials Needed: Full Manuscript (synopsis can be included but not required)

The biggie! A developmental and content edit provides a deep critique of all layers of the work. Per industry standard, this edit is done via Track Changes. You can expect line editing to correct grammar issues and I also comment as I read, providing you with a real-time reader reaction. I will also include an in-depth editorial letter covering everything from plot to characterization to grammar tendencies.

**This is a good choice for newer writers or those with unwieldy stories. It's also a great choice for manuscripts that get many requests but then get rejected.

**At this time, I do not do proofreads.
