For Those About To Nano…

Tomorrow it begins.

The mad dash to the end of the month with a 50,000 word manuscript in hand.

Since I have never Nanoed…Nano’d?? Anyway, since I’ve never done it, I really can’t give advice that will be of any benefit to those writers participating out there EXCEPT this…Know the high points of your novel going in….the tent poles that hold the whole thing up. Then fill in the spaces between. For help with the structure of your novel, visit these links:

  1. The Eight Sequences by The Script Lab
  2. Elements of Three Act Structure – Writer’s Resource

  4. And DON”T FORGET TO GIVE YOUR CHARACTER A GOAL…Read here and HERE.
You guys are awesome for taking on this challenge, and though I’m not participating, I think I will adopt a daily word goal (er…rewrite goal) of at least 1000 words a day for the month of November. That should put my WIP really close to the next phase…which is sending it to my beta readers and CP’s.
So….BEST OF LUCK TO ALL YOU NANOERS!!!! I hope you write a best seller.
XOXO and Happy Writing!!!

  1. I'm not Nanoing…but I am adopting a word count goal. I've been in the revision cave for 2 weeks now. Got some bad eye strain. I need some sunshine for a day or two.

  2. We sa-LUTE you! That's gonna be in my head all night. (Not that I mind, I love AC/DC!)

I'm doing NaNoWriMo for the first time this year as well, good luck to you!
