Blog Tour: The Willows: Haven by Hope Collier

When tragedy strikes, seventeen year-old Ashton Blake sets out on a cross-country road trip, leaving the comforts of Malibu for the mountains of Kentucky. Along the way, she encounters Gabe Willoughby—the mysterious drifter with eyes like the sea and a knowing smile. Getting to know Gabe raises questions about her past. But no secret can be buried forever, and Ashton soon finders herself in a world where water is air and myth becomes reality.

Just as Ashton comes to accept her newfound heritage, she’s summoned to fulfill a treaty laid down centuries before — a treaty that will divide her love and test her loyalty. In the end, her future isn’t her biggest concern, her humanity is. To run may mean war, but is she strong enough to stay?

First of all, I want to say that the cover of this book is pretty phenomenal. It grabbed me immediately. For those that don’t know, Willows: Haven is the first in a series by YA author Hope Collier.

The thing that intrigued me most about this book was the fact that it’s based on nymph lore. That seemed like such a unique paranormal premise.

Hope adds a few twists of her own to known lore around the idea of nymphs. The whole Naiads and Dryads element was pretty amazing.

I like anything mythological and in all honesty I’d never read anything with nymphs as the focus, so I was eager to read the book. Plus, Ashton and Gabe (that name was already dear to my heart since my own WIP hero is named Gabriel) seemed to be an interesting and exciting couple to watch on this journey.

I’m now remembering why reviews are so hard…I hate spoiling a read.

So I won’t. I’ll simply say this: If you’re looking for a YA paranormal with romance, myth, legends and a new spin on paranormal, this book is for you.  For excerpts, character interviews, more reviews and guest posts, check out the links below that have been a part of this blog tour.
